Victor Panteleimonovich Meshcheryakov

Artist, teacher, member of the Council of Artists of the USSR (1960), participant of the Second World War. He graduated from the Kharkov State Art College (1951). He was a student at the Sverdlovsk Art College until July 1941. Since 1951 he lived in Chelyabinsk, worked in the partnership "Artist" (now the art and creative combine of the Art Fund of the Union of Artists of Russia). In 1977-79 he was a teacher at the Chelyabinsk Art College. Meshcheryakov's creative work (portraits, landscapes, narrative and everyday painting) is based on the principles of realism. He participated in the regional and city (1952), zonal (1st, 2nd and 6th), republican (Moscow; 1954,1957,1979) art exhibitions; exhibitions of works by Chelyabinsk artists in Voroshilovgrad (1982); exhibitions of works by artists participating in the Great Patriotic War and home front workers dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Victory (People, 2000). The solo exhibition took place in 1975. The artist's works are kept in the collections of the Chelyabinsk Museum of Art and the collection of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (Moscow).
